(30,459 posts)I think politics and economics are important and I LOVE seeing it satirized when it's called for, which is most of the time, in this country at least. I don't think satirizing people's religious beliefs is such a great idea, because, frankly, it's a personal thing and NOT important to the society at large UNLESS, of course, its exercise violates existing law or the boundaries between church and state.
If that's not happening, I think people's religious beliefs (or lack thereof) are, again, personal matters that are really no one else's business. I don't see it serving any purpose since it generally just angers believers while rarely achieving it's supposed 'objective' of "converting" them to the satirists POV. With that in mind, it seems little more than self-indulgent snark.
