DesJarlais casts vote against Boehner, then poses with him [View all]

Moments after bucking the GOP majority and deciding not to vote to keep House Speaker John Boehner in his leadership position, Republican U.S. Rep. Scott DesJarlais of Tennessee posed for a family picture with Boehner.

All federal lawmakers were sworn in Tuesday, but the ceremonies came after a tense speaker’s vote in which DesJarlais and 24 other GOP representatives defected and voted for someone different than Boehner.

That’s the most votes against a sitting speaker in more than 100 years. Judging by the look on Boehner’s face in this picture, he’s none too excited to do a grip and grin with a member of his own party who wants to dethrone him.

Uncomfortable, anyone? I don’t think it’s too far of a stretch to say the speaker’s smile is a bit forced.
