Photos: Deer rescued from Snake River diversion dam (Idaho) [View all]

They don't say how the deer wound up in the water; it may have been due to falling through some ice upstream is my guess.

Fish and Game officers helped rescue three trapped deer in a diversion dam on the Snake River over the weekend in the Magic Valley. Fish and Game says officers spent five hours on scene rescuing and warming up the deer, who likely had been in the water for several hours. The deer were wrapped in blankets and one even spent some time in a warmed up truck. One of the deer did not make it. Photo courtesy of Idaho Fish and Game.
