in that I don't want to begrudge NYPD of equipment they actually do need,
it just seemed like an odd way to say "I don't think demanding an apology
from the Mayor is a good idea".
I do see the connection (i.e. that it may be wiser for NY cops to honor the
chain of command that they rely on to get needed equipment) but it just
struck me as odd they didn't have a more principled argument than that
in their arsenal. i.e. "protect and serve" , "honor our authorities" etc.
There was no ill will intended towards the cops (esp the good ones) who
are just trying to make a living, and stay alive in the process.

Nice to see all the guys in that union aren't RW idiots. Good for them. Lynch needs to be replaced.
