Reference to this story has been made earlier in this thread so I'll just add these links before they drown in the echoes on the internet.

Both articles contain interviews with Larsgard on the incident. (Edit: My thread list was not up to date so I didn't see the similar post above, sorry!)
10 days after the 9/11 terrorist attack, the then 22-years old bioengineering student gets accused of being a potential terrorist and is suspended from his studies at the University of South Alabama. Larsgard later sued the university, so he could continue his studies at another U.S. university.
