If you read through the thread, a poster from Winslow claims he was on pain pills.

If that is true, that he was on pain meds while he was driving, that would explain the accident that apparently totalled his first car, and why he left the hospital, rented a car, and then went looking to find his stuff at the wrecked car--hospitals here test you for driving under the influence, and he might have been trying to get out of Dodge before he was caught.

Also on this thread, you will find a civil lawsuit in which Mr. Larsgard claims he is in extreme pain, and, in fact, does take pain medication.

I'd like to see the documents of the case. Apparently Mrs. Larsgard was charged, but I do not knwo the current status of those charges. She has filed a civil lawsuit in this matter.
