158. About that "truth and justice" vs derogatory generalizations thing

I'm a USian with more than a few decades under my belt, who's lived in various parts of the US. Frankly, there are many derogatory generalizations one could make that would be entirely true and valid. While Nor_wegian was speaking far too broadly with his "stupid americans", there are in fact, many stupid Americans. And smart ones. There are also many different local/regional cultures that, um, encourage and reward less than optimal behavior.

This is my first hour on DU, and really have no idea what kind of site this is. Reddit is my usual hangout, and mostly because of the commenting system, and the interesting links. The user base has devolved over the years, but there are ways to deal with that.

Anyway, will go read the TOS to see what kind of place this is.
