Yes, he almost certainly wasn't racist or violent.
But he almost certainly *was* deeply homophobic, and while I'm not sure it would be accurate to describe him as "misogynistic", he was almost certainly immensely sexist and chauvinistic.
The oft-cited claim that there is not one line in the Bible attributed to him on the subject of homosexuality is *not*, as often claimed, evidence that his views on it matched those of 21st century liberals, it's evidence that his views on it matched those of the religious tradition he came from, and of his immediate followers (whose views on it are well-documented) and beyond "I come not to abolish the law, but to fulfil it" he didn't feel the need to change anything.
