(11,213 posts)I'm not a fan of third way either. My problem is the invective flung at Hillary for the same positions and actions that are praised when Obama does them. I don't think candidates are what we should be arguing now. That is the politics of personality. It is too easy to demonize this man or that woman without regard to what they really do. We should be arguing policy. The policy of this "alternative" to Hillary campaigned as a progressive and administered an executive branch that was something to the right of richard nixon.
That said. We won't get a choice. Hillary will likely be our candidate. I think it better to trap her into progressive positions during the campaign and hope that she might be less willing to ignore her promises. Didn't work with Obama, but, hey. Citizens united just made public what was already happening. Our candidates will be chosen by others.
Color me cynical.
