He hasn't been running the show for a while now. The half brother who is in charge now has been in charge for at least the past year... and he's in his 80s. Aside from that, as mentioned above, they won't change a thing at this point unless they end up having a temper tantrum about something that would call for such a move.

I also heard reported that the half-bro is also suffering mental health issues so he may end up on the slab before too long too, he is in his 80s after all. The next in line is a bit younger and perhaps he will choose to lower prices even further.

I suspect the long game is what we are seeing and that's just the way it is. For now, I am glad to see gas prices under $2.50/gal right now in my area, we've been paying a few cents short of $4/gal for several years in my area. All that has done is exacerbate the problems of the poor like me... it often means fewer groceries and other essentials due to the need to get around. It's really expensive to be poor.
