Irish wolfhounds and Bernese Mountain Dogs have a life expectancy of 7 years. Akbash usually live 10, but Mishka suffered from gigantism ... He was even too big for his breed. If you are interested in livestock guardians, I highly recommend them if you don't mind a dog smarter than you are. They'll take your suggestions under advisement and then do what they think is best. Check out Anatolian shepherds. Their life expectancy is about 12 years.
