69. Certainly there's wasteful spending, but at least most of it stays here

And people working for defense dept related companies are also pretty well paid. Comparing to countries that you say build their own stuff, the old saying "you get what you pay for" comes to mind. Sure, we've had expensive failures, but overall we have the best equipment in the world. Slave wages get you crap products.
