42. I should get a bear bell since I walk quietly outside

I've walked up on deer not even trying. Yesterday afternoon I went outside to pick up some stuff in the yard. There was a red fox over in the side yard - he didn't hear me or realize I was there and came past me. He never saw me until I moved and made a noise. Even then he just watched me to make sure I wasn't going to bother him.

But if I hike in bear territory - which includes our bottom thirty acres - I will need to learn to make more noise!
