(38,206 posts)And the bears are going to be blamed for it. Instead of just letting the bears live and checking for human remains in their innards, then letting them heal up and go, they will kill as many bears as they can, in true redneck ignorant fashion. I know the people of NC. What can I say? They are as predictable as a broken clock, only they aren't usually right even once a day, much less twice.
Personally, I don't despise the woman so much as I despise the rednecks who will use it as an excuse to be cruel to as many animals as they can. Why do you think so many species that were native to this continent are damn near extinct? It's because of that ignoramus vigilante animal cruelty.
Yes, call it misandry, but redneck men are chicken shits when it comes to wildlife and cats. I don't know what scares an NC redneck man more; a cat, a spider, or a bear. Probably the cat first, then the spider, then the bear. Out of the three, they only seem to think they are true men if they go after the one they can openly admit to being afraid of. Just to make the redneck women like them though, they will torture and abuse cats. It reminds me of the Paula Poundstone skit about the truckers that ride by and catcall women as they go by. It's like some redneck mating ritual. Be as cruel to animals as possible and dutch oven a redneck woman and you've won her heart for life. She'll take any abuse a redneck man dishes out for bonus points if he uses a flame thrower to kill a spider.
True, feeding the bears is not a good idea, because when you run out of food and they are hungry, you become dinner, but do the local yocals have to use it as an excuse to kill as many of a species as possible and be all proud of themselves for it? I mean really, come the fuck on. The ignorance and contempt for wildlife among so many in this area are way more offensive to me than a woman who liked to feed bears and was probably killed by any entirely different species of animal. Right, blame the bears and not the serial killer (there is AT LEAST one) that has been working NC for the past 20 years. Local papers won't talk about except one sheriff in Anson County who warned women to be safe and not get slaughtered by whoever is slashing up women in central and parts of eastern AND western NC.
Pardon me if I don't hate the woman who fed the bears as much as everyone else in this thread. I also didn't find it amusing when a boy in my teen years who was trying to "straighten me out" ran off the road to hit a cat ON PURPOSE because he knew I liked cats. He really thought that was going to "straighten me out" and make me like redneck men. Nope, didn't work. Killing as many animals as possible isn't going to change my mind about the redneck men in this area either, but this is a man's state and they will do whatever they damn well please. I'm just glad there are nice men here too, who are not ignorant and fearful of even a tiny little spider or a freaking kitten, for crying out loud. My step dad will not shut the fuck up about those "20 knives" a cat supposedly has, like non-polydactyl average house cats have a thumb on their hind feet. Shows how much he knows. I'm surprised he didn't try to kill my cats every time he saw them, with the amount of fear and ignorance he displayed about cats.
Any more, I think I just hate the entire human species for that superiority complex humans seem to have when it comes to bothering to learn anything about animals or having any respect for their right to exist in the wild. Does that make me a speciesist? I don't really care. Call me whatever names you want. I just don't hate the woman who fed the bears or think she deserved some kind of cruel punishment and to be laughed at when she died. I hate the assholes who will take it out on any and every bear they can fire a bullet, arrow, or bolt into after the fact.
RIP to the woman and a hearty FUCK YOU to the assholes who will take it out on all of any species they can kill in the bear family.
