22. It took me 3 days to get my first driver's license in Texas

At least at the time, it was possible to get a small motorcycle license at 15. So we went down to the DMV, waited in line for hours, got to the front and was told that I couldn't. We asked to speak to the supervisor who again repeated that I couldn't even when we pointed to the relevant section in the law. He wandered off and spent a long time calling around trying to get somebody to say that I couldn't. He managed to waste enough time that I couldn't get a license that day.

The second day, we go through the same, he finally agrees that I can get the license, I get to the front of the line and some asshat calls in a bomb threat and the DMV gets shut down.

So I have to go back a third day, spend several hours waiting in line to finally get the license.

My mom loved having to take 3 days off to get my license.
