Most of the people on the list you sent me are 50+. There was no evidence of long-term problems (which seems obvious to me but hey who am I) associated with concussions back then.
At least they are trying to do something about it. The Teams are limiting actual hard tackles in practice, helmet to helmet hits are being flagged and penalized often now, hits to kickers/quarterbacks (defenseless players) are getting much more scrutiny, etc. Also analyzing players post hard hits to the head on the sidelines is increasing versus before when they could basically stumble back out for the next play with no analysis at all from the hit.
