6. I didn't care much for this piece.

While I can certainly appreciate the author's POV, it isn't right to expect someone to think/believe/want the same things you do because you share the same ethnicity (or what have you). I know when I was younger, I felt the same about gay actors; now, if they are active, great, if not, that's fine too...as long as they don't work against us. The piece also seemed like it was a bit of a hit piece, likely because she doesn't like that Kaling isn't living up to the author's standards. It is also interesting to see the "assimilation" issues from another group, especially given that is a big topic among Jews.
