I dunno. When I first read that I got the impression he didn't even know who Beck was, like what he'd done as a musician and stuff. Maybe someone took him aside later and said 'Hey Kanye. That guy? Here's an album called Odelay you need to listen to. Then you better go and say you were talking about the Grammy's, not him'.

I'm fine with speaking up about stuff, but not at the expense of Beck. Iggy Azalea, I'd be all meh about coz she isn't an artist imo, but I'd still think it was a bit rude and probably a bit embarrassing for Beyoncé...

btw, have you heard much Beck? He was my staple diet in the 90's and beyond. I went off him a bit after Sea Change coz it was a bit too mellow, but I always loved this song from it, and it's really easy to play when I want to impress my friends by playing songs they've never heard of
