You cannot help your wife if you are not well. A pet can make such a difference. I sincerely hope you can somehow find a place where you can have a pet soon.

Let your wife know that she has a lot of people very concerned for her. Depression is a serious illness that has physical causes that are still not known.

Please be gentle with yourself and let us know how things are going.
