9. er, um when I first read this way back when I was 20 ish I too thought it to be a neurotic mind

But 30 years later I don't think so.

He tried religion but after a bit it didn't give him fulfillment anymore

He tried a marriage, or at least a relationship, but again after a but no fulfillment.

Then having a Baby.

Then a job/career/money.


These then are the usual steps for most people.

But the thing is, he didn't pick which door would give him food (fulfillment). Somebody else did. He didn't decide when it was no more fun. Somebody else did.


So he did everything he was supposed to do. He played by the rules.

And here's what I get outta the whole thing. There's huge pressure to do the same thing everybody else is doing thru life, and why are everybody else doing these things?? Because everybody else is doing these things.

To get fulfillment (food) forever, To Thine Own Self Be True.
