York College is no longer listed among the most dangerous campuses in the country, after a California-based data firm admitted to an error in its research.

In fact, none of the 25 schools on the first list belonged there, according to FindTheBest.com.

Following a PennLive story yesterday, the company issued an apology and retraction and revised the study, which now puts three other Pennsylvania institutions among the most dangerous in the country.

"We've identified an error in the analysis of the data used in this report, which culminated in an incorrect ranking of dangerous colleges in the United States," said spokeswoman Hillary Foss. "We sincerely apologize for any confusion and inconvenience this data issue has caused."
