4. By studying why other people have joined cults

I'm not saying it's a simple equation. People join cults for many different reasons. But it seems to me that everyone from the President on down are offering reasons as to why their recruiting is so successful and how to combat it. And I'm guessing that your average cult member didn't join because they couldn't find a job.

I bring this up because I haven't heard anyone discuss this from a perspective that ISIS has all of the hallmarks of a cult.

I am inviting discussion into this concept.
