(46,192 posts)it's like i see this tremendous concern about shallow sex, about b and c word usage and younger feminists respecting older feminists.
okay, that's cool, but where are you on the bigger issues of equal pay, and not limiting roles in society based on gender and misogynist posts that don't have anything to do with b and c words but simple denigration of women through simple discrimination?
there are tons of these posts and threads on DU all the time and i just don't see you there and your support could really help in those cases.
instead all the effort is on this kind of issue, which is honestly, now that it's 2012, simple about people wanting sex and sexual pleasure any way that they can get it --which is not a new thing.
when i think of feminism and standing up for proper treatment of women, arguing against men having sex with robots is so meaningless in the context of a society that pays women 70 cents for every dollar a man makes, that still treats women as second class in many ways, that allows women to be charged more than men for health care, that an entire political party has tried to win an election by offering up the health care and civil rights of women???
and you're here arguing about horn dogs? really?
it would be nice to see you arguing about equal pay. but instead you're here arguing about this and the other times agitating against beauty pageants (although at DU the only praise for beauty pageants has not been their objectification, but instead when they are examples of inclusion of people of color and orientation).
it just seems to superficial to me to rage against this here and not about all the other crap that really does disadvantage women in our society.
i don't get it.
