Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), appearing on This Week, forcefully rejected the former New York City mayor’s claim that President Barack Obama does not love America.

Host George Stephanopoulos told him it seems like there is a “double standard” that Republicans get asked more about their “outliers” than Democrats do — an idea that Ellison dismissed.

He said the Affordable Care Act is an example of how Obama has a “pragmatic love” for America.

“I think that the president is an amazing patriot and one of the best presidents, I think, our country will have ever seen.”
