(1,587 posts)I had a good conversation with my youngest (20 years old) yesterday. He's totally disenchanted with politics. Won't vote for anybody. I talked to him a little bit about Bernie Saunders, as well as the Green Party, and he seemed interested but said he has no interest in anyone who's running.
His friends are the same way. They see the mess the country is in, the way pollution is ruining the planet, how poverty is growing, how gay people are treated, and they aren't happy with any of it. They're ready for things to change, and I told him that young people like them need to get out in the streets and start the change.
I'd vote for Bernie. I'd save my pennies and donate to his campaign, even though it would likely only be a few dollars all together. I'd rather he didn't run as a Democrat, though. I don't want him beholden to the party coffers, AKA the corporations.
If we keep voting for the same kind of candidates, we shouldn't be surprised when we keep getting the same kind of leadership.
