addressing my concerns and this is his reply... I respect Rep. Welch and admire his work but this does disappoint me...

Dear XX. XXXXXXXX

Thank you for contacting me about Speaker Boehner's decision to invite Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to address a joint session of Congress on March 3. I appreciate your feedback on this issue.

I believe Speaker Boehner made a serious mistake in scheduling this speech because it will occur at a delicate moment in ongoing negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program and because it will take place on the eve of Israel's general election. I have urged the Speaker to postpone the speech until after the March 17 election and after nuclear negotiations have concluded, as expected, on March 24. Should the speech go forward as planned on March 3, I will attend because I believe I have a responsibility, as Vermont's representative in the House, to show respect for visiting foreign leaders.

Please keep in touch. I look forward to seeing you in Vermont soon.
