53. As much as this might be fun as a political matter.....

I am not laughing.

I think there is a 50/50 chance the SCOTUS will strike down the subsidies for those enrolling for health insurance in the federal exchange where the state has declined to establish its own exchange.

If so I do expect a backlash from those, many in red or red-leaning states. Some of those will be Republicans who continually vote against their own interests. Perhaps they have only themselves to blame. But many will be unaffiliated or liberals who saw this as an opportunity to no longer live in fear of a cough, a headache, a fall, etc.

The human toll would be palpable but is that sufficient to really move the GOP to action? I doubt it. They think all those people who are receiving subsidies are "takers" and don't deserve health care. What they don't realize is that before the ACA we were paying when these individuals landed at the emergency room but couldn't pay. The benefits with the ACA was they could see a doctor before they needed the ER and hopefully with better outcomes due to earlier diagnosis and treatment.

The GOP hates people unless they are rich and powerful. They despise the average American. They are modern-day terrorists.
