No wedding themed-party is complete without traditional wedding mints.

So, a gay-rights supporter made dozens of heart-shaped, rainbow-colored mints, along with cookies with rainbow sprinkles, for the “victory wedding reception” held Wednesday to celebrate the striking down of Nebraska’s gay marriage ban.

U.S. District Judge Joseph Bataillon struck down the ban Monday. Attorney General Doug Peterson sought a hold on the ruling, pending its appeal, that same day from the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

The court will decide whether gay couples can wed on Monday, when Bataillon’s ruling takes effect.
