19. Actually, quite often, we are pretty damned stupid.

it's one of the things I'm watching regarding artificial intelligence. If it is programmed and taught by humans, I wonder if it can get to stupid faster than we can, which would be an amazing accomplishment. Because we humans can get to stupid pretty damned fast.

Reasons that the Republicans might think we're stupid. A Syrian Policy that was drafted on the fly. The policy of bombing them into the stone age was replaced a year later by a policy of ignoring the Syrians and instead focusing on bombing ISIS/ISIL/IS. We're not sure who we like in Syria, but the groups we dislike the most is usually up for grabs.

The 2014 campaign in which our party had as our single campaign issue, the War on Women. A phrase that was so overused that even our supporters thought it was sickening and stupid. Of course, we know that the entire campaign strategy revolved around some Republican making a mistake and giving us a Real Rape quote we could use nationally, but unfortunately they were apparently smarter than we were, and won.

I could go on, and on, and on about the stupid mistakes we tend to make over, and over again. So the Republicans thinking we're stupid is not without cause, or precedent. I mean, if Democrats were willing to learn from those mistakes, and strive to keep from making them anymore, that would be one thing. But we seem determined to refrain from learning anything from our failures.

How about the legislation that Wendy Davis became famous for opposing. You remember, the Doctor and Clinic requirements that the Republicans said was going to improve safety and the health of the patient? We reverted to form and started shouting that it was a violation of women's rights. We didn't bother arguing the legislation, or the implications. We didn't point out that a Trauma Surgeon from Dallas could not treat accident victims in a mass casualty situation in Houston since he did not have admitting rights in Houston. We didn't point out that an Oral Surgeon never has admitting rights at a hospital. If something goes wrong they are limited to calling 911 and getting you to a Hospital. Oh they may give your heart the jump start, but that's about all.

So what is your metric to determine that we aren't stupid? We got our asses kicked by Joni Ernst. If you need more proof, what Democrat is out there pointing out that the tax credits won't help people who don't pay any income tax because they're too poor? Hey man what's that sound whole lotta crickets chirping round.
