21. You just reminded me of one time when I was a little kid

I might have been eight or ten. It might have been at a wedding or maybe a resort hotel. The only part I remember clearly is that I saw someone who was overweight on a dance floor and expressed surprise to my mother at how gracefully they moved.

Her response was that people didn't have to be skinny to be graceful and that often people you might assume were clumsy if you just saw them walking seemed to come to life on the dance floor and appear almost weightless.

That lesson made an enormous impression on me at the time in terms of not drawing conclusions about people from superficial appearances. But somehow, although I've remember the moral, I'd forgotten the incident until just now. Thank you for reminding me.
