My father, like me, has discriminating taste in food. Like me, he always turned his nose up at chain food, preferring local "mom & pop" choices unless there is no other alternative.

Unlike me, he is a hard-core conservative and self labeled tea party republican. He always was conservative but he went HARD right after 2008. Now he's always singing the praises of what I'll call "Big Food". He now convinces himself that he likes chain pizza, or restaurants better now. If he gets to a position to where he admits local food is better, he's always quick to defend chains because they are such big money makers.

First time I've ever seen someone change their personal tastes based on politics.

Bizarre. Or at least I think so.
