Rick Scott presided over the company that was hit with the largest Medicare fraud fine in U.S. history.
So far, as Governor of Florida, he has
- Turned away several kajillion dollars in federal funds for high-speed rail in Florida (because reasons).
- Instituted a program requiring aid recipients to be drug tested (they passed).
- Slashed education funding, then put a little back and patted himself repeatedly on the back for it.
- Had staffers use private e-mail to solicit donations for a museum (oops that's fine just fine nevermind)
- Fired the longstanding head of the state's law enforcement agency for failing to gin up a fake criminal investigation of a political enemy of Scott's
- Had a bunch of cowboy boots emblazoned with the state seal. Because he's such a badass.
As Chris Hayes said, there really is not a less appealing personality in politics in America.
And he's all ours.
