It's said the muzzle flashes were over 100 yards away. That's not a range at which the average person can accurately hit targets with a handgun.

Unless the shooter was firing randomly and just got lucky with hitting two police officers, it is much more likely that a rifle was used. It sounded like a semiautomatic one at that.

A redneck with an AR or AK wanting to cause trouble for the African American community in Ferguson is not out of the question.
