It's FEAR.
You should ask why the state of Mississippi, despite a population that is some 39% black, is a deep red state? It's the same pathos. I consider it PTSD, where you have masses of people so demoralized and beaten down and fearful, they just stop fighting, tune out, and sometimes act out.
And it seems you miss the whole point of a "movement". There was no literal comparison of Rosa Parks to Michael Brown. The comparison IS, that people felt aggrieved and rose up to fight it. What happened in Ferguson wasn't just "Michael Brown". It was a culmination of the harassment that people suffered 24/7/365. If you can't see what was uncovered by the DOJ regarding the systemic racism that infested this town, in a manner essentially no different than what infested Montgomery, AL., then I take offense at your dismissal of the core of the problem.
