(15,774 posts)There are no words sweet enough to comfort you and your loss.
I work as a Nurse and in one post I was ranting about the Health Care/ Insurance/Hospital Administration. Imagine my surprise when your wonderful husband agreed with me. That lead to many wonderful exchanges on DU. He was always on the side of medical staff that were trying to do the best patient care with the awful hand they were dealt. I think he had a special place in his heart for Nurses, and he certainly has a special place in mine. I thank goodness he sent that last e-mail and I was able to say my sad goodbye. I find some comfort in the fact I let him know how much I admired and respected him. I regret that we could not have had more conversations.
I know how hard it is for you and I appreciate you thoughtfulness in letting his extended family know of his passing. The world is a sadder place for his absence.
I hope to channel my anger into positive actions, I know he would have wanted it that way. I wish for you only the best in your new journey. Think of us with kindness and wish us the best as we continue to fight the good fight.
Love and comfort,
Anne D. RN
