(3,894 posts)51. The point is that most average 401K holders don't know the
hows, whys, and whens of stocks vs bonds vs commodities. They know mutual funds and money markets, and they are told over and over to leave it for the long haul, so they never get the education you claim to exemplify. Not to mention that 401k aren't like regular stock ownership in that they can't be "cashed" whenever the time might seem right even to those that might have a clue as to when "right" is.
