I wrote last week that I had to go to Illinois because mom had a 5 way bi-pass. The surgery went well and I did talk to her, but she started bleeding internally. Her lungs were bad. They put her on a breathing tube for about 6 days in hopes she would heal up and start breathing on her own, which she did. I had already headed home because she was doing well, talked to sister on Saturday and she said her and mom would call to talk Sunday, my brother called on Sunday and said she was DNR and on morphine with a short time to go. It all went south with her lungs I guess. So my brother held her hand for 2 and a half hours before she finally died. She was 82.
