I wonder if anyone might read the original post here, then read the entire thread, and perhaps see it in another light. Perhaps in the light that bravenak is talking about? Think about the original post here, mentioning a rap artist's comments and then in the same post mentioning reparations. WTF? Then read the entire thread and consider it from that standpoint. WTF?

Considering this kind of thing has been going a long time here, I kind of doubt it. Personally, I think it's a major problem among white liberals, and by extension a major problem within the democratic party.

Am I ever going to vote for a republican? Probably not. But I do know that we as a democratic party can do a hell of a lot better than we do here in this thread. And we will only do so with some self-reflection and improvement.

If on even the slightest chance that anyone reading here does rethink their thoughts, though, feel free to reply here. I know that in my case, I grew a lot from precisely some of the posts that at first when I first started posting here truly annoyed me. So I know it's possible. I sure would like to know!

Bravenak, you're one of my favorite posters here. Please don't allow yourself to get thrown off by this stuff. It's mainly flame bait, imho, and there's too many other positive things here to enjoy.

Okay, I'm being pretty selfish here. If it bothers you that much by all means do what's best for yourself. Please consider though, don't get dragged down by these loaded threads. It's not worth the stress. I'll just say that I always enjoy posting with you because it's like running into a friend at a rather boringly predictable party.
