I agree that we are far better off in some ways, but in many other ways, we're really not. In a lot of ways, we're worse off (and a lot, at that).

A quick note, though: Obama isn't terrible. He inherited an economy with massive problems, and overall I'm pretty satisfied with him. He's done some good things, and some bad. He's done about as much as I would expect a corporate president would, and as long as we're still in a capitalist system, I don't really think he's going to be able to change much. I just don't like when people claim that he's somehow saving the US, when in reality he's just another establishment president. Reality is harsh for the vast majority of people out there. Let's not deceive ourselves into believing our economic situation has changed in any meaningful way.
