In reply to the discussion: Mike Brown question sparks MetroLink beating caught on video [View all]awoke_in_2003
(34,582 posts)41. I rode it every where...
when I lived in Cleveland. I only got hassled once- walking from a bus station at 1 am on a Saturday night by a drunk guy. He grabbed me by the collar and told me to get off his street. My right hand locked his wrist while my left hand made his elbow bend abruptly the wrong way. I couldn't see me doing it now. What gets me is NO ONE came to help. We are becoming a more violent and apathetic country every day.

Drugs convictions cause the high incarceration rate. People who are violent SHOULD be in jail.

I think you're confusing "joining in" and "hijacking a thread for your own agenda..."

One has nothing to do with the other. You're conflating the two for your political point.

No, they would ask him for his wallet or phone, and then beat the shit out of him.

Considering that the DOJ cleared the killing of Brown as a crime at all, no it can't be considered

I think the shooting and killing of unarmed blacks is a more serious issue.

Nobody said it was excusable, but why can't you put murder and assault into perspective?

From the timing of the punches- as the train was pulling in to the station it seems planned by both.
