Gov - no-ears but for the tea-party who I think will power my presidential campaign - Pence,
Says he was taken unaware by the backlash. Now is calling for a second law to clarify the first law (that he signed 2 days ago into law) to assure that the law does not allow for discrimination. Ur, Gov Dense, shouldn't you have called for that before signing the bill into law? Nonetheless - the back tracking - when he has supermajorities in both sides of the legislature - is interesting.
Here is the link to the breaking item in Indiana (on a Saturday): http://www.indystar.com/story/opinion/columnists/tim-swarens/2015/03/28/swarens-gov-mike-pence-push-clarification-religious-freedom-law/70611906/
Read it - would love your take: is this a cynical attempt to take any responsibility while hoping the supermajorities keep their newly established (signed by Gov Dense - er - Pence) so that he still keeps his Tea Party bonafides in his predicted Presidential candidacy? Is this recognition that he didn't do his due diligence on the law and now is attempting to play the role of "the responsible adult in the room" among the Indiana GOP?
Glad that the backlash is already having an impact on my state.
