20. No civilian possession of a radio or television without a permit

As far as the radios go, I think there are three state-owned radio stations that serve Pyongyang (two AM, one FM) while the rest of North Korea only receives broadcasts from a single AM station. Last I heard, the radios can be turned off - and are often shut down by power blackouts that still hit the nation - but they do pump out propaganda practically all the time.

Each radio sold in North Korea is specifically built and adjusted to pick up only state-run radio, and each unit is also subject to inspection by state authorities at any time. There is a state seal that protects the electronic circuitry in the unit from tampering; damaging or breaking the seal is punishable under North Korean law. And even if you succeeded in tinkering with the internals without the authorities getting wise to you, North Korea routinely jams all foreign radio broadcast signals.
