Can the Tea Party be the end of the GOP? [View all]

Remember when the republicans finally took back power, they stood lock step. I hated that, they didn't care they all voted whatever way the Speaker said. Newt, Tom Delay, they had power and that is what made them a threat. The only way they held power was to keep that lock step, no one could vote any other way than theirs. They got rid of Republicans that didn't vote with them and it put the fear of God in all of them. Now 2011 and we have a Tea Party part of congress, the lock step is gone, it was the only thing holding them together. Infighting will get you everytime. We democrats are a little used to that, we are more diverse and used to not being lock step, we are more for the people and less for the win at all costs. I know sometimes I wish we were more in lock step, but it's who we are, we have many different ideas, and want whats best for all, the win at all cost is not in our DNA. I think the light is being shined on them right now, and only the hard core right can fall for that, they are going to eat there own.
