Gone but not forgotten ex-Congresswoman Michele Bachmann took to her Facebook page on Tuesday and compared President Barack Obama to Andreas Lubitz, the pilot who downed the Germanwings airliner in the French Alps last week.

The ex-congresswoman, who chose to not run for reelection in 2014 after eight years in Congress, made the comparison while criticizing the Obama administration’s efforts to negotiate a nuclear deal with Iran.

Longtime opponent, Wayne Bessen from Truth Wins Out, wrote: “I’m worried. If any person is an expert on deranged it is Michele Bachmann.” Other commenters chastised the former lawmaker for her ham-handed attempt to tie the tragedy to a policy dispute.

“Way to politicize a tragedy, lady,” wrote Elena Ballesteros, while Melissa Coca added, “Comparing this tragedy to anything is moronic and despicable. Congratulations, for once more upholding the level of stupid which only you can.”
