How exactly?

This is so far out of the attention span of the electorate that it literally will have no impact.

The republican nominee will scream about Obama "GIVING THE FARM AWAY TO IRAN!" and "Democrats are weak!" the media will let these statement stand as matters of fact, and the electorate of this country will dutifully believe that only republicans can keep us safe.

The republican nominee will say there is GREAT disagreement on climate change, the media will let that stand as a matter of fact, the electorate will side with the republican because their hair is not at that very moment catching fire from the intense heat from the sun and the republican implies that the new cell phone might cost a dollar more because of the measures necessary to actively address our part in global warming.
