Showing Original Post only (View all)Jeb Bush's most feared journalist is BACK. [View all]
Jeb's most despised and feared investigative journalist is hot on his slimy trail again. It sounds as if Indian-American journalist Shirish S.V. Dáte is about to devote much more time on exposing ol' Jeb's shenanigans and shady dealings. Jeb is in for major heartburn ahead.
And it's some of the very best news heard in these parts in a long, long spell. Bring it on, Mr. Dáte.
From Peter Schorsch at SaintPetersBlog on April 3, 2015:
Shirish S.V. Dáte, the former Tallahassee bureau chief of the Palm Beach Post, is stepping down as editor of the Washington Desk at National Public Radio.
Before his time at NPR, Dáte made his name for his aggressive reporting on former Gov. Jeb Bush which became the book Jeb: Americas Next Bush.
Dáte made the announcement in a Friday email to his colleagues:....I leave with mixed feelings. This is a first-class place with a lot of smart, talented people but I think that at this moment, I need to seize the opportunity that the good former governor of Florida is providing and make the most of it.
Thank you all, and fair winds and following seas, although with 2016 already here, Im confident our courses will be crossing often.
Dáte won recognition for his 2003 series on fraud and abuse in Bushs prized school voucher programs prompting criminal investigations. He also reported in 2002 on the House Speakers hiring of an aide a former Tallahassee Hooters waitress resulting in Dáte becoming the first reporter in Florida history to be banned from the House.

Jeb's political interference into that family's tragedy was shameful and infuriating.
