9. Since Romney/Republicans care nothing about human rights

It is not in Republicans' best political interest to take credit for human rights, as that would alienate their base.

When it comes to their lunatic base, the crazier the better, so I think they will just move onto even more ludicrous accusations. This episode reminds me of the juvenile lack of political diplomacy during the entire Bush administration.
