74. Some people think all women can deliver vaginally. This is NOT TRUE.

I would have died without a C-section and my doctor knew it BEFORE I went into labor. It was not an emergency C-section because he was smart enough to figure this out.


I am five foot two and small boned. The hole in your pelvis must be four inches in diameter for a normal sized baby's head to come out. That is why you are supposed to dilate to 10 cm which is approximately four inches.

I was told by one person, who must think everyone should have natural childbirth, on DU, that I must have a "deformed pelvis" and I quote. Also called a contracted pelvis.



I DO NOT have a deformed pelvis. I have a normally shaped pelvis, I'm just too small to deliver a baby vaginally.

When I went into labor at term, there was NO dilation and NO dropping because the baby's head was too big and I had a shoulder presentation. The baby was jammed in diagonally. The baby never kicked me because she was stuffed in with no room and weighed eight pounds which I thought was huge. I had to stop working at six months because it hurt my ribs too much to sit up. And I could barely walk.

Pregnancy is very stressful on small women.
