The name of the song was 'Brandy' but it was changed because of the song that was popular at the time it was sent in.
Casey Kasem explained that he couldn't play songs that had never been on the top 40, but a couple of years later he played the song as a tribute to the person who sent it in because it had been in the top 40.

At least that's the story he told on the radio one week when I was listening to the top 40.
