The US middle class was the largest the world has ever seen. Many brave people and leaders sacrificed, worked and fought for the rights of workers and families like the 40 hour work week, free weekends, minimum wage laws, the right to organize collectively (unions), child labor laws, vacation and sick leave, workmen's compensation for injuries and accidents, unemployment insurance and a good life.

Much of this was finally obtained through the efforts of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, US Labor Secretary Frances Perkins and others.

For the first time the US is not the leader in the middle class, Canada is No. 1 now and the US is No. 2. We have to unite to stop further erosion of what we have; listen and take action please.
